Global Youth Service Day

Global Youth Service Day (GYSD) is an annual campaign that celebrates and mobilizes the millions of children and youth who improve their communities each day of the year through service and service-learning. Established in 1988, GYSD is the largest and longest-running service event in the world, and the only day of service dedicated to children and youth.

Since 2006, DIA has been a partner with GYSD in Hungary and has mobilized 10,000-20,000 youth each year in more than 300 local communities.

Thanks to the success of our GYSD campaign in 2011, KöZöD!, DIA has been selected as one of the European Regional Lead Agency of GYSD 2011. DIA will cooperate with NGO’s in the following European countries: Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Lichtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Switzerland, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, and UK in order to promote youth volunteering and active citizen participation.
